Trip to Finland

Me Navarana E Kristensen along with two teachers Ivaaq & Ivalo and a fellow student Ane-Sofie have been visiting Turku in Finland. Below you can read and see pictures that have taken place in five days.

In addition to many pictures, I have chosen the pictures that tell us our trip in Finland.

We have been in Turku in Finland to visit the University Arts Academy and Primary school, including various institutions such as the Art Museum, Turku Castle and the Turku Old Church. The purpose of travel is to exchange knowledge in the education world - especially in the fields of artistic resources.

My teacher Ivaaq and I arrive on the 4th november in the evening to Turku.

At the University Arts Academy we observe, students in 1 year old and 4 year old dancing in each and every place. During the 4 year, students must focus on dance.

This is David Yoken, our friend. He is a music teather. He plays various instruments for the dance team.

We have visited primary school where Erkki works. We look around at school, see what's in school. We observe students in 3rd grade. They work with networks, where they work with Africa. We have also presented Greenland for grade 3 students. Where they have the opportunity to ask about the subject. It is very inspiring to see another school. The school's appearance and how they work in school. We do not work in Greenland, for example. network collaboration. I think it is inspiring. I do not have a pictures of Primary school. But you can see other pictures.

        We have visited Turku Castle together with Emma and Annina. There told the story. But we could not get into the building because it's closed that day. It is beautiful building. 

We have visited the art museum, where we together with Tina. Those who work in the art museum present what is in the art museum. On our way to the museum we have visited the church, which we found out that it is the oldest church in turku.

We have been to the museum together with Tina. It has been fun to see the old houses under the museum.

We were invited by the family who live a little outside Turku. Emma and her mother. There we should eat Finnish food. But before we eat food. There we visited Muumie Place.

Muumies place is closed in the winter. That's why there are not any people present.

We have been at the University Arts Academy to see the Puppet show. There we have seen, students' products and their story that has become the Puppet show. Even though it's Finnish, it's very inspiring to see their products and the way they display their show.

In addition to visiting Primary Schools or The University Arts Akademy, we have been with friends where we eat together or do something else. It has been fun to see another culture. Beautiful city and meeting with cute people in Turku.

In the five days has been inspiring and very instructive. Many new things. On the other hand, it has been hard for me, many things happen in a short period of time. But in the good way. Lots of input. Meeting with different people. I am grateful that they have prepared for our program. 

It has been instructive both as a person but also with the language.
The visit gave me insight into how to get inspiration from their way of teaching and how to use that knowledge to develop my teaching in the future.
